Special envoy of the OIC secretary-general for Afghanistan, ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet, call on ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, deputy minister of foreign affairs of the republic of Turkiye

ANKARA: Assistant secretary-general for humanitarian, cultural and family ffairs/special envoy of the secretary-general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Afghanistan ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet was received by ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, deputy minister of foreign affairs of the republic of Türkiye in Ankara.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including political, economic and humanitarian challenges facing the OIC family and discussed possible approaches to address these issues.
Ambassador Bakheet acknowledged and appreciated the positive role and contributions of the republic of Türkiye towards advancing the ideals set forth in the OIC Charter.
Both sides underscored the importance of close coordination, consultation, and cooperation to address daunting challenges.
Ambassador Bakheet also met ambassador Oguzhan Ertugrul, director general of the South Asia. Both discussed the UN’s Doha process on Afghanistan and efforts of the OIC and the republic of Türkiye to support the Afghan people and pursue constructive dialogue with the de facto authorities on various issues, including girls’ education, women’s rights, counter-terrorism and humanitarian aspects.
Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet explained that the OIC is guided by the council of foreign ministers’ decisions in all its endeavours for Afghanistan.
