Allama Iqbal Community center to host Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 11

NEWYORK: The Allama Iqbal Community Center, an organization of the Pakistani American community in New York, has announced that it will organize a Brooklyn Independence Day festival on August 11.

Organizers said that the Pakistan Day Brooklyn Mela will be held on Sunday, August 11, at 18th Avenue on Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn.

They said that Rana Maqsood Elahi will be chairman and Hasan Nasir Awan will be the president of the Brooklyn Fair this year.

This announcement was made by the seniors and organizers of the Mela committee during a press conference.

Allama Iqbal Community Center Chairman Malik Nasir Awan said that one of the main objectives of assigning important responsibilities to the youth for the festival is that our educated youth should lead so that they can celebrate Pakistan’s independence in a better way in the future.

Introducing the organizers of the festival, chief patron of Brooklyn Mela Tahir Bhutta expressed hope that all the young organizers of the Brooklyn Mela will make this event a success.

Brooklyn Mela Chairman Rana Maqsood Elahi said that celebrating Pakistan’s independence abroad shows the determination that all Pakistanis have not lost their love for the country despite being away from it.

President of Pakistan Day Brooklyn Mela Committee Hasan Nasir Awan while addressing the meeting with regard to preparation of the event said that Brooklyn Mela will be made historic with respect to the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan and we want to convey the message that even though we were born in America, we have not forgotten our country.

The chief organizer of the festival  Tahir Bobi said that like every year, our artists will participate in the event including Shazia Manzoor and other singers.

Other leaders of Allama Iqbal Community Center have urged the Pakistani American community to participate in the event  on August 11 and celebrate the independence of the country with enthusiasm and raise the green crescent flag in America.

The community leaders said that they will assist and support the Allama Iqbal Community Center and make the Brooklyn Independent Day Mela a success. They said that the they will do their best  to fulfill their responsibilities.
