Nassau county international cricket stadium launched for T20 world cup 2024 matches
NEWYORK: The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island, New York, was officially inaugurated for T20 world cup 2024 matches
The stadium has 34,000 seats capacity which is believed to be one of the largest cricket stadium in US.
Addressing a press conference, Nassau County executive Bruce Blakeman said that huge screens will be installed at different places of the city. He said that getting ticket for Pakistan and India cricket match will be no less than a competition.
ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Ambassador Usain Bolt, renowned former West Indies fast bowler Curtly Ambrose and other players were also present in the inaugural ceremony and press conference.
To a question about the status of pitches at T20 world cup matches, ICC officials said that there will be fast and bouncy tracks in all the matches.
Talking to the media at the cricket stadium, former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik said that the matches will be played first time in US and whoever understands the conditions will get an advantage.
He said that he heard that there will be bounce on the track. Former skipper said that there are good expectations from the Pakistan side and as cricketers we only see the India-Pakistan match just as a match. He said that the players of both teams sit together, eat and drink after the match.
World fastest athlete Usain Bolt said that cricket is a great way to connect people’s hearts and he is so excited to watch the T20 world cup matches.
At one hand the fans are eager to watch the Pakistan-India match scheduled on June 9 while on other hand getting tickets for the match has become a big challenge.
The T20 World Cup 2024 will start from June 1 and for the first time some matches will be played in US America while the final will be played on June 29.
