NEWYORK: A Pakistani American’s deputy public advocate in the New York city Kashif Hussain has been named in the statewide list of activists working for better infrastructure and environmental justice.
New York City’s deputy public advocate Kashif Hussain is the first Pakistani-American Muslim who has been included among 56 outstanding anti-pollution activists in the “Notable Leaders in Sustainability 2024” list.
Kashif Hussain heads the urban infrastructure and environmental justice unit, a local policy review unit that works to eliminate toxic chemicals from the food and environment, including the city’s carbon footprint.
Kashif Hussain also has the honor of establishing the Pakistani American Youth Society and the Newkirk community garden, a social organization consisting of young people.
