Interfaith Peace Committee holds meeting to promote unity and brotherhood

NEWYORK: Inter-Faith Peace Committee Pakistan has gathered people of all religions in one place to promote peace, harmony, brotherhood and unity.

The second diversity gathering organized by Inter-Faith Peace Committee Pakistan at local hotel on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn.

Members of the City Council and Deputy Consul General of Pakistan Umar Sheikh participated in the event organized for the promotion of inter-faith harmony.

Chairman of Inter-Faith Peace Committee William Shahzad, Chief Coordinator Mushtaq Kamboh, General Secretary James Cyprian and Pakistani-American entrepreneur Abdul Rauf Bhalli played an important role for organizing the meeting.

William Shahzad and Mushtaq Kumbho said that we should not give an opportunity to anyone to promote hatred in recent scenario.

A large number of people from different schools of thought and the Pakistani community participated in the event.

James Cyprian and Abdul Rauf Bhalli said that the world cannot afford any more war and it is necessary for global peace to forget the differences.

US officials, who participated the event, said that we should all strongly discourage uncivilized, inhuman and hateful behavior so that the enemies of humanity and peace cannot succeed.

Pakistani and other community members also agreed to promote brotherhood among themselves.

Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the officials of the Interfaith Peace Committee by the City Council, while citations were also given to various community representatives. Participants also offered prayers for the departed soul of Deputy Consul General Umar Sheikh’s father.
