New York: The New York Police Department has assured the Muslim community that proper Security will be deployed at mosques during Ramadan.
The pre-Ramadan conference held at the New York Police Headquarters, One Police Plaza, was attended by police commissioner Edward Caban and a large number of other high-ranking officers and Religious scholars of Muslim Community. New York Police Muslim Chaplain Imam Tahir explained the importance and virtue of Ramadan in the light of Quran and Hadith.
Police Commissioner Edward Caban said that police are always trying to ensure the safety of every citizen’s life and property, there are more than 3 thousand Muslim officers and officers in the department and their’s representative organizaition namely “Muslim Officers Society” (MOS) is a powerful voice.
While addressing to the participants Deputy Commissioner of Community Affairs Bureau Mark Stewart said that the basis of our relationship between the police and the community is mutual friendship.
The importance of all the communities living in the city is equal, the mosques will be fully protected in the month of Ramadan, says Police officers.
The Imams of mosques and community members of the Pakistani community participating in the conference said that the pre-Ramadan conference gives us confidence that Our mosque are safe and the we will observe this holy month peacefully.
The participants of the conference were also shown a documentary produced on the working of the police and various professional activities. The attendees were informed that in case of any emergency, they should report to 911 the police will be always available to assist them. The Muslim community expressed its gratitude to the police department for ensuring security measures on the occasion of Ramadan.
