Mega cricket event set to begin from Dec-19 at the International Cricket Council-certified Moosa Stadium in Texas: Chairman and CEO APL Jay Mir

New York: Preparations for the grand second season of the American Premier League (APL) have entered the final stage as the mega cricket event is set to begin on December 19 at the International Cricket Council-certified Moosa Stadium in Texas.

Five teams will participate in APL season 2. This was said by the Chairman and CEO of the American Premier League, Jay Mir while addressing the press conference along with the players.

Jay Mir further said that the platform of APL is the best opportunity for players not only from America but all over the world to showcase their skills.

“Cricket fans as well as I felt the absence of a Bangladeshi franchise in both seasons of APL, but, we hope that in the third season Bangladeshi team will also be part of the league for which we will continue to work with the Bangladeshi franchise and we are in touch with them.

The event was administrated by Roshani.

In response to a question during the press conference, former West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle said that APL-style leagues are very helpful for young cricketers in improving their technical skills.

He said he is excited to play with the young players through APL season 2. On this occasion, Pakistani cricketer Fawad Alam expressed his views and said that APL will provide the best opportunity for young players to present their talent to the world.

During the press conference, Canadian cricketer Naveed thanked the APL management and said that these types of leagues help develop the skills of young players, where they also benefit from the experience of their seniors.

On this occasion, former English cricketer Ravi Bhupara pointed to Chris Gayle and said that Chris Gayle’s joining the league is adding colors to the league because the way he puts the opposition team in trouble with his surprising batting and bowling. The moments are spectacular and I think the coming weeks are going to be very exciting for the cricket fans, he said.

During the press conference, former English cricketer Samit Patel thanked the APL management and expressed good wishes for all the teams.

After the press conference, the players along with Jay Mir reached Time Square where APL is being promoted on the big screen.
