Connecticut: Former Pakistani cricket team captain Wasim Akram, legendary Zaheer Abbas and Mushtaq Ahmed were inducted into the Cricket Hall of Fame.
A colorful and spectacular celebration of 42 years of The World’s First Cricket Hall of Fame was held at a private hotel in Hertford, Connecticut, USA.
The event was attended by former players of the West Indies team, members of the cricket board, the mayor of Connecticut and a large number of the business community.
In the ceremony, the former captain of the Pakistani cricket team and the King of Swing Wasim Akram, legendary Zaheer Abbas and Mushtaq Ahmed were announced to be included in the cricket hall of Fame.
The players received their awards.
On this occasion NACA President Umar Khan said that he has always tried to remember his legends along with the promotion of cricket.
Speaking on the occasion, Raja Razak said that it was a heart-felt pleasure to induct the players of the Pakistani team into the Cricket Hall of Fame.
Apart from Pakistani players, former Indian cricketer Robin Singh, former West Indies cricketer Eugenia Gregg and West Indies umpire Peter Nero were also inducted into the Cricket Hall of Fame in the annual ceremony.
On this occasion, fundraising was also done for the Cricket Hall of Fame, while CEO Michael Chamber presented Life Time Achievement Awards, Presidential Awards, Golden Achievement Awards, Certification of Achievement and Appreciation to various personalities for their services for the promotion of cricket.
