A Pakistani origin commanding officer Adeel Rana in NYPD again makes history by becoming the first Muslim- Pakistani executive in an elite intelligence.
Adeel Rana will continue to serve as the commanding officer in his new assignment. According to a notification issued by the Chief of Personnel of the New York Police Department, total 53 officers have been transferred to various departments and divisions.
Adeel Rana belongs to Faisalabad, a city of Pakistan, who is currently a Deputy Inspector and as well as Commanding Officer in the New York city Police department’s 84th precinct.
According to the notification, he has now been transferred to the Intelligence Bureau. His new posting will be effective from October 5, 2023.
He previously made history by becoming the first Muslim and Pakistani commanding officer of NYPD patrol precinct. He later became the first Pakistani American to achieve the rank of deputy inspector and he’s currently highest ranking Pakistani American in the NYPD
Adeel Rana Celebrated with his colleague cops and Pakistani American Community in local restaurant located at Coney Island Avenue, also known as little Pakistan.
A large number of socio-politico, social activists, businessmen, including prominent Pakistan based journalist Sohail Warraich also attended the event.
