Former India cricketer Chetan Sharma tweeted a picture of Kapil Dev from the hospital where the former skipper could be seen in good spirits after suffering a heart attack on Thursday.
The Indian cricket spectrum and crores of fans came across a piece of scary news on Friday as former captain Kapil Dev suffered a heart attack and had to be admitted to the hospital for treatment. After undergoing angioplasty, Kapil stabilized and has reportedly been doing well since then. Early Saturday, former India cricketer Chetan Sharma shared a picture of the 1983 World Cup winner, in which the latter looked in good spirits.
Wishes poured in from all corners as the news spread on social media. The Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, where Kapil is admitted at the moment, also issued a statement telling his fans that the champion cricketer is expected to be discharged in a couple of days.
“Mr. Kapil Dev came to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) emergency department at 1:00 am on 23rd October with a complaint of chest pain. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary angioplasty was performed in the middle of the night,” the statement said.
“Currently, he is admitted in ICU and under close supervision” the hospital further said. “Mr Kapil Dev is stable now and he is expected to get discharged in couple of days.”

Kapil Dev also took to social media to give his fans an update about his well being. “Thank you everyone for all the love and concern,” Dev wrote. “I am overwhelmed with the good wishes and well on the road to recovery.”

On road to recovery, Kapil is expected to be back home before the week ends.
