ICNA relief, an active organization for human welfare, organized a fund raising event in a local hotel situated in Long Island, New york. The event was widely attended by a number of people from the Muslim community of New York.
Along with the attendees featured the Director ICNA Relief Arshad Jamal, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, Former Basketball Player Abdul Rauf.
The attendees of the event were enlightened with the goals and objectives of ICNA Relief while perpetuating upon the social work being carried out by the organization.
Laura Curran in her address to the event, acknowledged the work of ICNA relief while appreciating their agenda of working without racial or ethnic discrimination.
The fund raising event properly began after the address, with many local businessmen along with the local masjids chipping in for the noble cause. The initial donations raised in the first four hours were estimated up to over 475 thousand dollars.
Honorary awards and certificated were handed to the people for their explicit work for the betterment of the community. It was assured that the hefty amount raised in the event would be put in use to help humanity without discrimination.
