PENNSYLVANIA: Shia Muslims of Pennsylvania observed Arbaeen to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, grandson of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and his companions in battle of Karbala in 7 th century.
The mourners participating in the Arbaeen took out procession which started from the North Riverfront Park. A large number of mourners from local and nearby areas participated in the Arbaeen procession.

Islamic scholar Sheikh Abdul Jalil, shed light on the life and character of the Imam Hussain and described the atrocities committed on the Prophet’s family after the Karbala incident.
The participants of the Arbaeen procession were carrying black and green flags in their hands and were chanting slogans of “Labaik Ya Hussain.”
Later, Mualana Mirza Zaheen Najafi addressed the participants and described the eternal sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions, explained the importance and philosophy of Arbaeen.

The procession passed through different routes and reached its destination City Hall in Harrisburg and ended with a prayer for the unity of Muslims and the peace of the Islamic world.
