NEWYORK: A Pakistani-American organization Empowerment celebrated one year completion of “Marka-e-Haq” in New York paying rich tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces to defend the country against aggression.
The celebrations were held at Jalsa Restaurant. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The national anthems of America and Pakistan were played in the celebration of “Marka-e-Haq.” The event was moderated by Sheikh Mohammad Ashfaq, who welcomed the guests and appreciated the services of the Pakistani-American officers posted in the New York Police Department.

The special guest of the event, Pakistan’s Consul General in New York, Amir Ahmed Atuzai, described the courage and bravery of the country’s current leadership and the soldiers of the Pakistani armed forces as unwavering.
New York City Deputy Public Advocate Kashif Hussain and Pakistani-American candidate for the State Senate from Pennsylvania, Tayyaba Sultana, also attended the ceremony.
The speakers said that the Pakistani community has created a unique identity in every field due to its skills and abilities.
The restaurant hall was decorated with green lights. Pakistani-American officers posted in the New York Police Department also participated in the celebration.
Pakistani-American Inspector Adeel Rana and Deputy Inspector Waheed Akhtar said that it is an immense pleasure that community gathered at one platform for a purpose.
Renowned singer Saima Jahan paid tribute to the soldiers of the Pakistan Army by presenting the famous songs, originally sung by the late Queen of Singing Madam Noor Jahan.

The organizers of the event, Chaudhry Maqsood Elahi, Arif Butt, Yousuf Mughal, Chaudhry Sadaqat, Tariq Ehsan Butt, Mushtaq Kamboh and others, expressed their love for the motherland.
Community members including political, social and business figures said that Pakistan’s defense is impregnable.
Later, citations were presented to police officers of Pakistani origin by the Public Advocate Office of New York City.
