NEWYORK: Anjuman-e-Ghousia took out 41 st Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) procession which began from Coney Island and culminated at Mecca Masjid after passing its traditional routes.
The procession began with recitation of Holy Quran. The founder of Anjuman-e-Ghausia Pir Syed Safdar Hussain Shah read verses of Holy Quran and Darood-o-Salam.
The participants of the procession were offered breakfast and a cake was also cut to celebrate Eid-Milad-un-Nabi.
Renowned Naat Khawan Asghar Chishti and others recited Naat in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) while Pir Fazil Ayaz Qasmi led prayer as per tradition before start of Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession.
Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession started from Avenue H under the leadership of scholars and Mashaikhs, in which a large number of participants from Brooklyn and other areas recited Naat and Darood-o-Salam.
General Secretary of Anjuman-e-Ghousia Mushtaq Naqshbandi also read Naat in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The participants of the procession were accompanied by political, social and business figures including Syed Safdar Shah’s son Shiraz Shah, Sheikh Ashfaq, Rauf Bhali, first Pakistani-American police inspector in the New York Police, Adeel Rana and others.
The participants of the procession were carrying green flags to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
Various stalls were set up on the procession route from where Langar (free community kitchen food) was distributed among the participants.
A large number of women also participated in the procession.
Addressing the participants, Pir Syed Fazhil Ayaz Qasmi shed light on the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He said that celebrating Milad-un-Nabi is also a source of happiness for us because it is the best way to express our devotion and love for the last prophet.
Various camps were also set up on the procession route. The staff of the Sikh community grocery store Villager Farmers Market distributed milk juices from their stall.
The speakers said that love of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is the guarantee of salvation from hell.
Addressing the participants, scholars and other speakers said that everything in the universe send blessings and greetings to the Messenger of Allah. People also offered prayers for Safdar Shah’s good health and long life.
Earlier, the procession administration presented a bouquet and an award to New York Police Deputy Inspector Joseph Warnersbech for his services, while Mecca Masjid Chairman Zafar Iqbal and social figure Ashfaq Sheikh were given citations.
The founder of the procession, Pir Syed Safdar Hussain Shah, announced that next year, Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated on August 8.
The procession of the Eid Milad-un-Nabi passing through its traditional route, turned from Dittos Avenue and headed back towards Avenue H and ended at the Mecca Masjid.
