Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) procession taken out from Fatima Masjid

NEWYORK: Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) congregations continue in United States in the month of Rabi-ul-Awal. A procession of the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) celebration was taken out from Fatima Masjid in New York which passed through its designated routes and culminated at the Fatima Masjid.

The Imam of Fatima Masjid Pir Syed Shafqat Shah offered prayers at start of the procession from Hampstead and participants recited Darood-o-Salam in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Renowned Naat Khawans Asghar Chishti, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Shoaib Qadri, Mohammad Rafiq Qadri, Faiz Rasool and Mohammad Umair recited Naat in their unique and mesmerizing styles.

A large number of people including women and children participated in the procession and expressed their devotion.

The procession was moderated by Mufti Sajjad Madani, while Allama Mohammad Ishtiaq Sialvi of Gujarat attended the procession as a special guest. The scholars shed light on the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman’s Senior Advisor Chaudhry Akram played an active role in securing the Fatima Masjid administration’s permission for the procession, while Aun Naqvi, Executive Director of Asian American Affairs, ensured security arrangements for the procession and participants.

The Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession passed through its designated routes and concluded at Fatima Masjid Elmont.  The participants offered Zuhr prayers at Fatima Masjid where Langar (communal kitchen) was  arranged for them.
