Pakistani American’s woman officer promoted to Detective in NYPD

NEWYORK: The New York Police Department has promoted officers from various divisions to higher ranks. Among those promoted is Famila Akhtar, a Pakistani-American officer who has now attained the rank of Detective.

A large number of civilian staff and police officers from various departments were promoted in NYPD.

Among the promotees is Famila Akhtar, a Pakistani-American officer serving in the Anti-Narcotics Unit, who has been elevated to the rank of Detective.

Senior department officials attended the ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch congratulated the promoted officers. She pointed out that, thanks to the department’s exceptional performance, there has been a marked decline in all categories of crime.

The promotion ceremony was attended by the officers’ families and friends, as well as Adeel Rana, the first Pakistani-American Inspector.

Famila Akhtar joined the NYPD in 2011 and has consistently performed her professional duties with hard work, dedication, and integrity. She is currently assigned to the Anti-Narcotics Unit and has stated that she will work even more effectively toward the prevention and eradication of narcotics
