NEWYORK: All Pakistan American Coalition organized an event to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day in New York in which a large number of members of the Pakistani American community participated.
The event was also attended by individuals who have rendered outstanding services in various fields.
Syed Zahid Shah and Rahila Firdous moderated the event which was begun with recitation of Holy Quran followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and the United States.
The participants were informed about the aims and objectives of APAC and the services of the organization to the Pakistani American community.
Speaking at the ceremony, the organization’s President Arshad Hussain and Chairman Tauqeer-ul-Haq thanked the Pakistani community for participating in the Independence Day event and appreciated the discipline of the participants.
He asked the Pakistani nation to move forward on the path of development by utilizing mutual unity, education and capabilities.
Referring the sacrifices of founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders of the Pakistan Movement, they said that Independence Day is not just a day of celebration but an opportunity to realize our national duties and responsibilities.
A large number of members of the Pakistani American community, including American officials, attended the ceremony. The participants said that such events play an important role in connecting the new generation with the history, culture and national values of Pakistan while living abroad.
During the event, the services of the community in various fields were appreciated. Saad Hassan and Aun Naqvi presented certificates of appreciation to the APAC officials on behalf of their offices.
The event highlighted Pakistani culture, traditions and national unity, while the participants expressed their best wishes for the security, development and prosperity of the homeland on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
APAC also presented special awards to Inspector Jahangir Ashraf and Chief of Volunteer Police Nasir Saleem.

APAC Chairman and Founder Sheikh Tauqir and the organization’s team thanked all the guests and community members who attended the ceremony.
Later, the participants celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day together and cut the cake. A large number of members of the Pakistani American community participated in the ceremony and expressed their love and commitment to Pakistan.
