NEWYORK: ICNA Relief Regional Director Arshad Jamal has been conferred the global humanitarian service award.

A prestigious ceremony was held at the United Nations Headquarters in honor of individuals who have rendered outstanding services in the field of humanitarian service, social welfare and community welfare, where ICNA Relief’s Northeast Regional Director Arshad Jamal was conferred the global humanitarian leadership and community service award.

ICNA Relief regional director Arshad Jamal was awarded this global honor in recognition of his humanitarian service, community welfare, social welfare and non-discriminatory assistance to people in need across the Americas.

The event was organized by 1000 Shades of Women Foundation International in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Gambia to the United Nations.

Diplomatic figures, social leaders, representatives of various communities and people associated with welfare organizations attended the event.

ICNA Relief regional director Arshad Jamal said that this honor does not belong only to him but to the entire team of ICNA Relief and the thousands of volunteers who are engaged in serving humanity beyond color, race, religion and nationality.

He said that ICNA Relief is working on various welfare projects to help families affected by natural disasters, low-income people, women, children, the elderly and the homeless across the United States, while women are also playing an important role in the organization’s activities.

The organizers of the event said that it is the need of the hour to appreciate the services of individuals and institutions that promote hope, unity and the spirit of service to humanity in society.

Later, several personalities who have rendered outstanding services in various fields were also honored.
