NEWYORK: A fire broke out at top roof of private restaurant in Coney Island Avenue which burnt a private restaurant and several shops.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
According to witnesses , a fire broke out on the roof of the Sweetness Restaurant on Avenue H on Coney Island Avenue, also known as Little Pakistan, in Brooklyn, during construction work, which quickly engulfed the entire restaurant and then the surrounding shops.

The fire spread so quickly that no one had a chance to control it, and within minutes, eight shops belonging to small businesses were destroyed by the fire.
New York City Police and Fire Department vehicles reached the scene after reporting of fire.
63 units of the Fire Department, 192 fire and EMS personnel participated in the firefighting activities.
No casualty in the fire incident has been reported. All roads of four sides of Coney Island Avenue were completely closed during the rescue operations.
An inquiry has been launched to determine the final causes of the fire and to estimate the losses to businesses.
