No tickets to be issued for double parking during prayers timings outside mosques in all boroughs of the city

NEWYORK: New York Police officials visited at Mecca Masjid to meet with Muslim community on arrival of holy month of Ramadan and assured that full security to be provided at Masajid during Sehri, Iftar, and prayers timings.

New York Police Department’s Community Affairs Bureau Deputy Chief Richie Taylor led a delegation of Muslim officers to Mecca Masjid before Friday prayers and met with the administration.

Pakistani-American Deputy Inspector Owais Khanzada, who is posted as a traffic enforcement agent, announced that during Ramadan, no tickets will be issued for double parking during prayers and Taraweeh prayers in mosques of all boroughs of the city.

He said that if Muslim worshipers receive a ticket, they can contact the mosque administration within 2 days.

President of Mecca Masjid Zafar Iqbal, Pesh Imam Qari Osama and other personalities were also present.

Addressing the community members, the first Pakistani-American Inspector in the NYPD, Adeel Rana, said that this facility is reserved only for prayer hours and urged people to not do anything that will cause embarrassment to the entire community.

Earlier, Deputy Chief Richie Taylor said that whenever he learned about Islam, he got a message of peace, love, brotherhood, and Ramadan makes him feel the presence of Allah’s blessings.

Later, Richie Taylor wished the Muslim community a happy Ramadan and also raised the slogan of Long Live Pakistan.
