NEWYORK: The Pakistani American Community of Long Island celebrated Quaid-e-Azam Day with great enthusiasm.
The Quaid-e-Azam Day ceremony organized at a local restaurant in New York. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and prayers.
A large number of Pakistani American community members, including women, men and youth, participated in the event.
The leadership and members of PACOLI attended the event wearing costumes similar to those of the leaders of the Pakistani Movement, poet of the East Allama Iqbal, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Ms. Fatima Jinnah and others.
Founder of the Pakistani American Community of Long Island Bashir Qamar and Tauqir Sheikh said that freedom is a blessing that has no substitute, everyone will have to work hard for the development, progress and stability of Pakistan.
The heads and members of various representative organizations of the Pakistani American community also participated in the event.
The restaurant was also decorated and the participants were holding green crescent flags in their hands.
Addressing the participants, PACOLI senior vice president Humayun Safdar and Executive Director Ateeq Qadri said that the role of PACOLI founder Bashir Qamar in educating the community will never be forgotten.
Famous singer Bilal Shafi presented national songs, while Junaid Younis sang cultural songs. The youth displayed a magnificent dance performance reflecting the cultural costumes of all the provinces of Pakistan.
The founding head of PACOLI Bashir Qamar presented awards to himself, his team and other personalities in recognition of their services. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the young generation to encourage them.
Later, a cake was also cut to mark the 149th birth anniversary of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
