NEWYORK: The American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee organized a meet and greet in honor of New York City’s newly elected Mayor Zoharan Mamdani.
APPAC Central Chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmed organized a meet and greet at his residence in honor of the newly elected Zoharan Mamdani of New York City, which was attended by a large number of people from different walks of life, including political and social circles.
Founder of APPAC Youth Wing Arsal Ijaz gave a welcome speech and invited Zoharan Mamdani to speak.
Arsal Ijaz said that Zoharan Mamdani came here five years ago as a candidate for the New York State Assembly member and now he has been elected as the next mayor of this city.
He said that this is a clear message that when the community unites and trusts someone, the results are also positive.
APPAC President Dr. Pervez Iqbal, Dr. Sadia Tahir, Asad Chaudhry, and other board members and heads and members of various community organizations were also present at the event.
Addressing the audienc, newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani said that when he came forward as a mayoral candidate, he had an unprecedented level of support.
He said that no one could believe at that time that he would be elected mayor of New York City for the next five years, but then the support he received from the entire community turned a dream into a reality.
The newly elected Mayor met and shook hands with various personalities participating in the ceremony.
Later, APPAC Chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmed expressed his gratitude to his wife for arranging the beautiful ceremony and all the participants for their presence.
He said that APPAC will continue to work to promote the participation of the Pakistani community and the young generation in the American political and electoral system. APPAC Youth Wing founder Arsal Ijaz also presented a shield to newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
