Spanish community organization Gorayab distributes 1000 turkeys to low-income families on Thanksgiving

NEWYORK: The Spanish community organization Gorayab, in collaboration with Nassau County, distributed 1,000 turkeys to low-income families at Long Island on the occasion of the annual Thanksgiving.

The Spanish community organization Gorayab organized a food pantry in collaboration with Nassau County. A large number of people had been waiting at que at Freeport since morning, and the organizers and volunteers provided 1,000 turkeys to the people with joy and respect.

Secretary Director of Spanish Affairs said that helping the deserving on Thanksgiving is the top priority of his organization and Nassau County also provided full support for the success of this welfare campaign.

A member of the Gorayab organization present at the event said that the aim of this initiative is to protect families facing financial difficulties from food shortages during the festival.

The event was attended by various US officials along with members of the local community.

Talking to Voice of South Asia, executive director of the office of Asian American Affairs Nassau County, Aun Naqvi said that this is a positive initiative that has brought smiles to people’s faces and created an atmosphere of happiness and solidarity in the community.

The participants present at the food pantry appreciated the efforts of the organization. The participants said that this initiative to help needy families is commendable.

Dozens of volunteers were involved in the entire distribution process, who provided the goods to different families with respect and cheerfulness. On this occasion, local residents also appreciated the services of the organization.
