NYPD’s delegation attends 10 th memorial service of Randolph Holder, who sacrificed life in line of duty 10 years back

GEORGETOWN: A New York Police Department delegation attended a memorial service for Detective Randolph Holder, a Guyanese-origin police officer who was killed in a shooting incident 10 years back.

There was scene of mourning in a church in Georgetown, the capital of the South American country of Guyana.

Randolph Holder, a Guyanese-origin detective who served as a detective in the New York Police Department, was killed in a shooting attack 10 years ago in 2015. The police officers, NYPD delegation, family members gathered in his memory.

The memorial service was attended by a delegation from the Guyana Police Force, the NYPD, Randolph Holder’s family, friends and fellow officers.

Speaking at the memorial service held at the church, the pastor paid tribute to Detective Holder’s service and sacrifice.

A delegation of more than a hundred officers and personnel from various departments of the New York Police Department attended the memorial service for Randolph Holder.

The police officers said that Randolph Holder set an example of duty, bravery and honesty. His sacrifice can never be forgotten.

Speakers said that Randolph Holder will always be remembered.

The speakers further said that Detective Randolph Holder was a brave officer of the New York Police Department. They said that Holder’s sacrifice was once again remembered with honor, respect and devotion.

Later, the participants went to the cemetery to pay their respects at the grave of Randolph Holder, where a detachment of the Guyana Police Force presented a guard of honor to Randolph Holder.

The police detachment laid flowers at Detective Holder’s grave. A few moments of silence were observed and prayers were offered.
