NYPD delegation arrives Guyana to attend memorial service of Detective Randolph Holder

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA: A delegation of the New York Police Department has arrived in Guyana to attend the 10th death anniversary memorial service of their slain colleague Detective Randolph Holder. Guyana Police hosted a reception in honor of the NYPD delegation.

A 100-member delegation of New York Police Department officers was given a warm welcome upon their arrival in Guyana who visited to attend a memorial service for their colleague Detective Randolph Holder, who was killed in a shooting incident in the line of duty 10 years ago.

The police in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana, hosted a dinner in honor of NYPD officers.

Guyana Police Commissioner Clifton Hyken welcomed the NYPD officers. He said that this is a great opportunity to understand each other’s capabilities.

The father of the deceased NYPD Detective Randolph Holder was also present at the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that all of NYPD officers are all my son’s guests and he  is very proud that my son sacrificed his life in the line of duty.

New York Police Inspector Adeel Rana said that the police department is like a family, and the happiness and sorrow of any individual is equally important to everyone.

In the evening, officers from Guyana and New York Police discussed professional matters. A cricket match will also be played between the NYPD and Guyana Police.

Police officers said that a strong relationship between the police and the community is very important for eliminating crime in any city.

A memorial service for Detective Randolph Holder will be held on Monday, October 20.
