NEWYORK: The 70th birthday of Pakistan People Party Co-Chairman and President of the country Asif Ali Zardari was also celebrated in the United States.
PPP USA President Khalid Awan said that Asif Ali Zardari has a long journey of sacrifice and struggle for the country and the constitution and expressed hope that Pakistan will join the G20 in 2030.
The ceremony organized by Pakistan People Party USA on the 70th birthday of President Asif Ali Zardari in New York began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and followed by Naat in honor of prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Additional Advocate General Sindh Qazi Bashir attended the event as the special guest. PPP leaders welcomed him on his arrival and presented him with a bouquet. The event was moderated by Raja Asad.
Addressing participants, PPP USA President Khalid Awan and special guest Qazi Bashir said that the PPP, along with being a party of martyrs and ghazis, is also the guarantor of the survival of Pakistan.
A large number of PPP workers and supporters attended the ceremony.
Addressing the audience, PPP New York President Zafar Chhata, Humayun Safdar, Jamshed Gujjar and Azra Dar said that even the opponents of the PPP recognize Asif Ali Zardari’s political wisdom and reconciliation policy.
A large number of Pakistani American community members from different walks of life also attended the anniversary celebration.
On this occasion, other PPP leaders said that after the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, Asif Zardari raised the slogan of ‘Pakistan Khappay’ and made the provinces autonomous through the Eighteenth Amendment.
Other members of the PPP also expressed their views and wished Asif Ali Zardari a long life.
Prayers were offered for the long life of President Asif Ali Zardari and for the departed soul of PPP New York President Zafar Chatta’s late wife.
Later, the leaders of the PPP America, along with the guests and party workers, celebrated Asif Ali Zardari’s 70th birthday by cutting a cake.
