NEWYORK: The Republican Party has announced its support for Pakistani-American candidate Shahryar Ali for the post of legislature in the Nassau County election in New York. Shahryar Ali said he is running for a better future for his community.
A fundraising dinner was organized in honor of attorney Shahryar Ali, a Pakistani-American candidate running for the legislature from District 14 of Nassau County. Republican Party Chairman Joe Cairo also raised Ali Ali’s slogans in a unique way in support of Shahryar Ali.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the Republican Party and the Pakistani community.
Addressing the participants, Nassau County Republican Party Chairman Joe Cairo said that we do not want to turn Nassau County into New York City. The Republicans have the majority in the county and Shahryar Ali’s success will increase our strength.
Shahryar Ali’s father and senior advisor to the Nassau County Executive, Chaudhry Akram Rehmania, Director of Asian American Affairs, Aun Naqvi and others were also present at the fundraising dinner.
Shahryar Ali expressed his gratitude to the Republican Party leadership. He said that we should think about our future and the future of our children. The role of the Pakistani and South Asian American communities will be very important in the November 4 elections. He said that Valley Stream’s victory will decide the next county legislator, and whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, his success is actually the success of all of us.
John DeGrace from the Valley Stream Republican Committee and John Ferretti, Supervisor of the Town of Hempstead, said that the improvement of the county should be the top priority, and we reduced property taxes by $70 million.
Other Republican Party leaders participating in the ceremony also announced their full support for Shehryar Ali. The speakers expressed hope that Shehryar Ali would definitely be successful in the November elections.
