NEWYORK: Pakistan Baitul Mal’s managing director Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt has assured American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee that he will provide all possible support to trained nurses so that they could participate in the required examination for employment in United States.
An important meeting was held at the residence of chairman APPAC Dr. Ijaz Ahmed in Long Island with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal’s managing director Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt, in which various issues including the involvement of Pakistanis in American politics and how Pakistanis can benefit from the shortage of nurses in the United States were discussed.
Chairman APPAC Dr. Ijaz Ahmed drew the attention of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal managing director about the shortage of nurses in the US and said that many institutions are ready to train nurses in Pakistan, but the main problem is the payment of fees to appear for the exam. He said that if Bait-ul-Mal helps the deserving nurses with regard to payment of examination fees, than it will be easier for Pakistani nurses to come to the United States for employment purposes.
The meeting was also attended by APPAC’s central president Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal, New York Chapter President Tariq Khan, Board Member Asad Chaudhry, and other members.
Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal said that many of our partners are ready to bear all the expenses of the nurses, but we want government agencies to also contribute, so that better results will be achieved.
Baitul Mal Managing Director Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt said that there is no shortage of people serving the people without discrimination in Pakistan. He said that Baitul Mal is also working forward in many other fields including education, health, orphans, and care, and we will provide all possible support for the employment of Pakistani nurses in the United States.
Earlier, president New York chapter Tariq Khan, and board member Asad Chaudhry shed light on the aims and objectives of the establishment of APPAC and the efforts to promote the participation of Pakistanis in American politics.
The APPAC leadership made it clear that they have no political agenda; they want Pakistanis living in the US to participate in local politics here and use the power of their vote.
