NEW YORK: A family and friends get-together and presidential elections were held under the auspices of the Memon Association of North America in which progressive panel’s Suhel Millwala was elected as the new president of MANA for the next two years.
Memon Association of North America, which has comprised of around 400 members, has been providing social services in the Tri-State for the past forty years, the majority of whom hail from New York.
The get together and presidential elections were held at the Oak Pavilion in Belmont Lake State Park.
Progressive Panel and the Young United Panel were contesting the election and after a tough competition, the Progressive Panel emerged victorious and Suhel Millwala was elected the new president of MANA.
The Progressive Panel’s victory brought joy to the participants and the winning panel was congratulated.
The newly elected President Suhel Millwala expressed his determination to strengthen the community, mobilize the youth through the organization’s platform, and play a more active role in solving the problems of the community.
The participants greeted each other on Eid and appreciated the efforts of the organization. The participants, including Rafiq Lakhana, Saleem Adamji, Iqbal Mozawala, Anwar Alvi, Mohammad Javed, Kamil Motani, Afza Lakhani, Shaukat Ali ( Owner of Kabab King) and Rehan Makati, said that the mission of this organization is to work for the unity, development, and welfare of the community.
The second objective of the program was a friends get-together and barbecue event on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, which was attended by hundreds of people.
The event provided a delicious BBQ, tea, and various snacks for the participants, while special activities were also organized for the children, including face painting and various games.
