PACOLI’s founder Bashir Qamar book “Ard-e-Muqaddas” launched in New York

NEW YORK: The launch ceremony of the book Ard-e-Muqaddas by Bashir Qamar, the founder of Pakistani American Community of Long Island was organized in New York in which a large number of writers, intellectuals, and people associated with Urdu literature participated.

A launch ceremony of another remarkable work by Bashir Qamar, the founder of PACOLI and a renowned writer active in the community for the past 40 years, was held at the Hicksville Community Center.

The event was presided over by renowned writer and intellectual Atiq Siddiqui. Wasif Hussain Wasif was the chief guest, while Wakeel Ansari was the guest of honor. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Dr. Sarwat Rizvi moderated the event.

Writer and intellectual Atiq Siddiqui, Wasif Hussain Wasif and Wakeel Ansari expressed their views on various aspects of the book and appreciated the author’s research and literary efforts.

Addressing participants, Bashir Qamar, the author of the book and founder of PACOLI, became emotional while remembering his mother.

Bashir Qamar said that due to hard work and dedication, a person can achieve whatever he wants. He said, “I never thought that I could write books, but nature made me write three books.”

Bashir Qamar’s wife Tasneem Qamar expressed her views and said that the Palestine is important not only for Muslims but also for Jews and Christians.

The speakers said that the book Ard-e-Muqadas presents the historical, political, and cultural background of Palestine in a unique literary style, which is a valuable addition to Urdu literature.

Other literary figures participating in the event said that Bashir Qamar’s writing showed us the scenes that we only hear about in the news, but this book touched the heart.

The speakers said that this is not just a book but a historical document that enlightens the new generation about the realities of Palestine. Later, a tribute was paid to Bashir Qamar, and a few excerpts from the book were read to the audience, which were greatly appreciated.
