NEW YORK: American Pakistan Public Affairs Committee organized an event in New York to celebrate Pakistan’s victory against India. The participants paid tribute to the bravery of the Pakistan Army and said that they stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistani forces to protect the country’s sovereignty.
The event was held at a local restaurant in Queens, New York, to celebrate Pakistan’s victory against India. A large number of prominent community leaders, scholars, and political and social figures attended the ceremony.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the American and Pakistani national anthems. The ceremony was presided over by APPAC President Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal, while the other guests included APPAC Chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmed, Board Director Naheed Bhatti, and Pakistan’s Consul General in New York Amir Ahmed Atuzai, among other prominent figures.
Addressing participants, APPAC Chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmed thanked the organizers and all the participants.
He said that they have gathered here to express solidarity with Pakistan and are also grateful to President Trump for playing the role of mediator between the two countries.
APPAC President Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal said that we should be proud of our army as they had silenced India’s guns to defend their homeland.
APPAC Board Director Naheed Bhatti and Youth Wing Member Bisma Malik said that wars have never been the solution to the problem and we have always talked about peace, no matter which country it is.
They also paid tribute to the mothers of the martyrs on the eve of Mother’s Day.
Pakistan’s Consul General in New York, Aamir Ahmed Atuzai, who participated in the ceremony, repeated the words of the father of the Nation Quaid -e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinah and said that there is no power in the world that can wipe out Pakistan, but our enemies forget this time and again.
He said that we are a peace-loving nation, but this desire of ours has always been considered as our weakness.
Other participants in the ceremony also paid great tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the Pakistan armed forces.
The speakers said that the Pakistan armed forces have always played a courageous role against the enemy and the entire nation stands with them.
The participants expressed their determination that they are ready to make every sacrifice to protect the security, sovereignty and national dignity of the country.
The speakers said that the Pakistani armed forces are the guarantee of our survival and the enemy can never succeed in his evil intentions. A cake was also cut at the ceremony to celebrate Pakistan’s victory, while at the end, the participants expressed their feelings with loud slogans like Long Live Pakistan.
