Pahalgam attack: Indian accusation on Pakistan is attempt to divert its intelligence and security failure

0

Following Pahalgam attack, India found easy solution to hide its failure by making Pakistan as scapegoat to divert domestic and international attention and scrutiny.

India has alleged Pakistan without any evidence while Pakistan demands independent and neutral investigations as Pakistan has neither any connection to it, nor is potential beneficiary.

The hype that is created on each and every incident in India sharply contrasts with her insensitivity to heinous terrorism in Pakistan this exhibits Modi’s inhibitions with respect to People of Pakistan.

Indian Modi government has been extremely selective in reacting to incidents in Manipur vis a vis violence in Kashmir.

Modi made multiple foreign trips during burning of Manipur which led to deaths of hundreds of civilians, and never cut short a visit to return and address the situation with same urgency as of Pahalgam. This exclusive appetite to exploit the situation to maximize benefit against Pakistan.

It is intelligence and security failure of India as with presence of over 700,000 occupation forces in Indian Illegal Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, best of the equipment, an elaborate fence system, all the possible revocations, restrictions and suppressions and amidst the claims of normalcy and unprecedented tourism, and an ironclad ban on visit of international media as well as human right activists, how did the attackers remain undetected? This is a serious intelligence and security failure.

Instead of accountability for its own failures, the best option is to blame Pakistan. And this is what India does, unfailingly. This time, however, India was under international scrutiny for rogue, extra judicial, transnational killings (in Pakistan as well as others including US & Canada etc). India will use this ‘opportunity’ to evade the ongoing condemnations and accountability.

Given India’s track record, and recent trajectory (post Pahalgam), it is not, however, difficult to predict next Indian move: a fabricated testimonial using Kashmiris in their illegal / undeclared custody. International community must remain beware!

Like always, Indian government has either played to the (populist) gallery or chosen to draw myopic political mileage out of this ‘incident’, the jingoism exhibited by PM Modi in his speech during political rally at Bihar in the wake of upcoming elections bears testimony to this.

India is the beneficiary of “international focus on terrorism / war on terrorism”, especially in the aftermath of 9/11: as Delhi has successfully delegitimized lawful struggles of those deprived of inalienable human / constitutional rights by equating them with terrorism.

India has long used terrorism as a vehicle for achievement of its strategic objectives. India has history of using such ‘incidents” to introduce draconian and oppressive legal regimes (revocation of Article 370 & 35b post Pulwama, and suspension of Indus Water Treaty post Pahalgam, are examples in this context).

Such exploitation of ‘incidents’ for achievement of sinister objectives should be identified and rejected by international stakeholders. Enquiry is also merited in the strange coincidences into such ‘incidents’ as most of the ‘attacks’ have occurred during high profile visits and events.

India has marginalized Kashmiris despite their decades long struggle for right of self-determination (as endorsed by United National Security Council resolutions).

The people of Kashmir have been subjugated, and oppressed for over seven decades by the Indian forces. Instead of addressing the situation, India has attempted to internalize the issue. Resultantly, Kashmiris have risen through an indigenous form of struggle which continues to be ruthlessly stifled by Indian occupation forces.

While this lack of maturity in thought process is highly unjust to those who have lost their loved ones, it will not be without perils.

Pakistan, with its focus on economic recovery and perilous fight against terrorism, cannot be beneficiary of Pulwama and Pahalgam and Pakistan’s alleged involvement defies all logic.

Pakistan is an agrarian economy and any threat to its waters is an attack on the people of Pakistan, it is an assault on economy of Pakistan. It is economic terrorism.

Pakistan is itself victim of terrorism, fights it on daily basis: 70,000 plus Pakistanis have been killed in fighting terror in last two decades, nobody knows the pain and agony, of losing unarmed and innocent civilians.

Pakistan have rejected terrorism and expressed concern for loss of lives during Pahalgam attack and offered condolences for the bereaved families.

Pakistani government have always condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, have policy of ‘zero tolerance for terrorism’, and have reiterated this for decades, and manifested it diligently.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan had dismantled the networks in Pakistan while on the other hand, it is India that glorifies and even celebrates terrorism in Pakistan.

Pakistan has said that it will give befitting response in case war is inflicted on it. Pakistani political and military authorities say Pakistan is cognizant of the developing situation. They say we are alert and vigilant, we will thwart any misadventure and respond in a befitting manner at the time and place of our choosing, every time, all the times.

Allow India to escape the scrutiny of her actions involving target killing by its rogue agency  officials worldwide including USA, Canada and Pakistan?

Will international community permit India to upend the established world order based on respect for international treaties? What will stop India from dishonoring other international. commitments and obligations? What will discourage others to do the same in the name of precedence?
