NEWYORK: The New York Police Department’s Desi society held its sixteenth annual scholarship and awards dinner. Awards were presented to police officers from various countries.
A large number of officers from the South Asian community of the NYPD attended the 16th annual scholarship and awards dinner, hosted by the New York Police Department’s Desi society, held at a private hotel. A musical night added the excitement of the gathering.
Deputy Inspector Jahangir Ashraf from the Pakistani community, Abdullah Khandakar and Odelle Despot from the Bangladeshi community were awarded the Commanding Officer of the Year award.
Awards were also given in the person of the year, leadership, community service, rising star, appreciation awards, finest award, supervisor of the year and business Supporter categories.
