Pakistani American Journalist host farewell reception to outgoing Pakistani Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram

NEWYORK: A special ceremony was held in New York in honor of Pakistan’s outgoing Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, in which the new Ambassador, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, was also welcomed.

A ceremony was held in honor of Pakistan’s outgoing Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, at a local restaurant in Hicksville in which outstanding services of Munir Akram were appreciated.

Pakistan’s new Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, was also welcomed.

The ceremony was attended by diplomatic dignitaries, distinguished members of the Pakistani community and media representatives. The guests were warmly welcomed at the ceremony and presented with bouquets of flowers.

ARY chief operating officer (COO) Asif Jamal hosted the event. Asif Jamal praised Munir Akram’s services, saying that his leadership skills and efforts to improve Pakistan’s global image are unparalleled.

Addressing participants, the newly appointed Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, expressed his ambitions and said that he would use his full capabilities to make Pakistan’s diplomatic role in the United Nations more effective.

He reiterated his commitment to raising Pakistan’s prestige at the global level, focusing his energies on human rights, peacekeeping missions and other important issues.

Outgoing Permanent Representative Munir Akram, in his speech, mentioned Pakistan’s diplomatic journey, his experiences and challenges at the United Nations. He said that it is a matter of pride for us to represent our country because Pakistan is a great country.

He thanked the Pakistani government and people and said that he will always be keen on Pakistan’s development and its better representation at the international level.

The event was attended by a large number of prominent figures from the community and Pakistani American journalists, including Pakistani Consul General in New York Amir Ahmad Atuzai, Chairman American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee Dr. Ijaz Ahmed, and NYPD Inspector Adeel Rana, who expressed their appreciation for his services.

The speakers highlighted Munir Akram’s services at the United Nations, his effective representation of Pakistan’s position at international forums, and his achievements in the diplomatic field.

The speakers paid tribute to his leadership skills, expertise, and efforts to improve Pakistan’s global image. Various distinguished guests attending the event described it as a significant occasion where the Pakistani community had an opportunity to interact with their former and new ambassadors and learn from their experiences. Later, Munir Akram was presented with a shield of honor.
