10th annual Suhoor festival held in New York

NEWYORK:The 10th annual Suhoor festival was held in New York which was attended by over 20,000 persons of Muslim community belonging to different countries.

The Muslim community performed Taraweeh prayers and did Eid shopping at the festival.

The 10th Suhoor festival was organized by The Halal Guide at Nassau Community College which attracted the Muslim community. The participation of thousands of young people, men, women and children made the festival splendid.

Halal Guide co-founders Raza Dastgir and Hammad Sheikh said that the number of participants in this festival was increasing every year. They said that they want that Muslim community should be fully represented and small businesses should also receive support.

The stalls of beautiful oriental costumes, shoes, bags, and various fragrant perfumes remained the center of attention at the festival.

Pakistan’s Consul General in New York, Aamir Ahmed Atuzai, and members of various representative organizations of the Pakistani community also participated.

They said that it is not easy to organize such a big event in such an organized manner and there is hardly any other example like it.

The stalls of various food items at the Suhoor Festival were set up where delicious dishes, including tea and coffee were served. The participants said that such programs should be held repeatedly in a year.

The Suhoor Festival was all about the beautiful scenes of the Muslim Lights Festival. The lights reflected Islamic history, the image of holy places and different Muslim countries. The participants described this festival of Halal Guide as historic and most successful event.
