Dallas Journalists Unite to Establish Dallas Press Club for Media Welfare
Dallas, Texas – In a major step toward enhancing the welfare of journalists in the city, an informal meeting was held at a local restaurant where media professionals from Dallas gathered to discuss the formation of a dedicated platform for their collective benefit.
Key figures at the meeting included Zahid Rana, Chief Executive of Voice of South Asia, Raja Zahid Akhtar Khanzada, Editor of Jago Times, Fayyaz Hassan, Managing Editor, and Vice President Amir Ali Makhani, along with others.
The group unanimously agreed to establish the Dallas Press Club, aiming to create an organized forum for journalists in the area to strengthen their communication with the community and each other.
The meeting highlighted that while many journalists are individually engaged in community service, there is a need for a more systematic, collective approach. Despite the widespread use of social media and various local and international media outlets, the city lacked a platform to facilitate effective communication and support for journalists.
To take immediate action, two committees were formed to manage the administrative and legal processes required for the establishment of the Press Club. These committees are expected to report on their progress at the next meeting, which will take place in one month.
In a significant move, it was also decided that the Dallas Press Club would be open to all journalists, including those involved in traditional media or social media. This initiative marks a new era of cooperation and support among Dallas’ media professionals.
