CHARLOTTE: A fundraising gala dinner was held at a private hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Memorial Hospital, being constructed in Karachi, in which donations of $95,000 were collected.
Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital’s CEO Dr. Faisal Sultan and Pakistan’s famous actor Wahaj Ali were the special guests of the event who were warmly welcomed by the participants.
The organizers of the event included Ali Khayyam Shakir, Maskan Shakir, Raja Waqqas Abbasi, Hina Salim, Saima Khan, Aisha Hayat and others.
Dr. Faisal Sultan said that Shaukat Khanum is a source of hope for cancer patients in Pakistan. He said that 75 percent free treatment of patients is only possible due to the donations of philanthropists.
The speakers said that whatever one give to save the lives of the patients will be rewarded hereafter.
Actor Wahaj Ali also got make selfies with the children and his fans. In fundraising, Imran Khan’s signed bat was also auctioned and the participants generously donated for the hospital and approximately $95,000 were collected.
