NEWYORK: A Pakistani American social figure at Mecca Masjid Zafar Iqbal organized a pre-Ramadan reception at a private restaurant to review the arrangements before the arrival of Ramadan in Brooklyn which was attended by regional officers of the New York Police Department.
The meeting discussed the security arrangements for the Mecca Masjid.
The local officers of the New York Police who participated in the ceremony assured Zafar Iqbal that the security arrangements for the Mecca Masjid during Ramadan will be satisfactory.
Deputy Inspector Misbah Noor, President of the Muslim Officers Society Captain Waheed Akhtar and the recently appointed Commanding Officer Mubeen Yasin from the Kashmiri community were also present in the meeting.
The Pakistani-origin officers said that entire Muslim community feel proud whenever one of our Muslim brothers get promoted to an important position.
Social figure Imtiaz Ahmed, who also participated in the ceremony, said that he was glad that Mubeen Yasin was elected Commanding Officer and Captain Waheed Akhtar was elected President of the Muslim Officers Society.
Commanding Officer Mubeen Yasin said that he would continue to strive and work better for his department and the Muslim community.
Local New York Police officers participating in the ceremony also congratulated their fellow officer Mubeen Yasin and expressed their best wishes.
Later, Mubeen Yasin’s promotion cake was cut and the participants expressed their gratitude to host Zafar Iqbal for arranging a gathering.
