Muslim officers society NYPD holds religious gathering to observe Shab-e-Miraj

NEWYORK: Muslim Officers Society of the New York Police Department held a religious gathering to observe the occasion of Shab-e-Miraj. Scholars urged the participants to take some time out of their day to read and understand the Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM).

The Muslim Officers Society, with the collaboration of its sponsors, organized a gathering at the Hamza Masjid in Long Island.

Maulana Kashif shed detailed light on the Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM).

Speaking on the occasion, Imam Tahir, a Muslim chaplain in the New York Police, said that Ascension is not just an incident but a miracle of Allah Almighty. He said that entire life of Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) is a beacon of light for us and we need to follow it.

The gathering was attended by not only Muslim police officers but also people from various walks of life, including political, social and business circles.

A session was also held in the gathering on the topic of peace of mind, hope and strong faith, which was addressed by renowned religious scholar Mufti Farhan.

He said that in the present era, we have all become so busy that we do not even have time for ourselves. He said that we must at least take out enough time in the day to recite the Holy Quran and study the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) and this process will completely change our lives.

Sponsors of the gathering Halal Bros provided lunch and Kebab Jees provided dinner for the participants of the gathering. Saleem Sheikh, owner of Halal Bros restaurant, said that it is an honor for us to make arrangements of the event on a blessed night.

Earlier, renowned religious scholar Mufti Sami expressed his views on the challenges faced by Muslim police officers. Finally, prayers were offered for the progress, prosperity, success and peace of the Muslim Ummah across the world.
