NEWYORK: New York city Comptroller Brad Lander has announced to contest next mayor elections.
Talking to journalists of Pakistani community, Lander said that immigration and customs enforcement should not be allowed to enter into schools and hospitals.
He said that those immigrants who are not involved in any crimes should have the right to live here.
To a question, Comptroller New York Brad Lander said that he assures the entire community, including Pakistanis, that he stands with them.
In response to a question about the funding cuts for major cities’ non-cooperation in Trump’s deportation of illegal immigrants, the Comptroller said that New York city has its own laws and if an immigrant is involved in serious crimes, action should be taken against him, but immigrants who are not involved in criminal activities should have the right to stay here.
Comptroller Brad Lander said that New York definitely gets a budget from the federal government, but we also have to protect the people who participated in the construction and development of the city.
To a question about Mayor Eric Adam’s participation in Trump oath-taking ceremony , he said that Mayor Eric Adams attended Trump’s swearing-in and sent a message that he can do whatever he wants.
In response to a question about running the affairs of New York city, Lander said that his past is spotless and the entire community is well aware of his work. He said that his politics do not revolve around personal interests and his own personality and he believe in serving the citizens.
Comptroller Brad Lander said that he is the only Jewish politician who has called for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Lander said that he believes that Muslims and Jews can live together. He said that if he is elected mayor of the New York, both nations will pray together.
Brad Lander also recited the first Quranic verse of Surah Ikhlas. New York City Comptroller Brad Lander claimed that he would be the best mayor for this city.
