NEWYORK: American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee Chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmad has announced that Dr. Pervez Iqbal has been elected as the President of the National Board. Dr. Pervez Iqbal’s appointment as President will be for two years.
A meeting of the Executive Committee of APPAC was held at the residence of Dr. Mohammad Hassan, which was attended by the central officials of the organization and members of the board of directors.
Addressing participants, APPAC Chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmed said that his organization believes in upholding democratic principles and traditions and Dr. Parvaiz Iqbal has many services in the community and social sector.
APPAC also reviewed its various activities, annual performance and consulted on the future strategy.
APPAC’s newly elected president Dr. Parvaiz Iqbal expressed his gratitude to the board members. He said that our Pakistani community could get a much better position if it is completely active in the social and political system here.
Other speakers also expressed their views on this occasion. They were of the view the strengthening of democratic forces and election transparency in Pakistan will take time.
The leaders of APPAC said that it is not wise to live in America and do politics on Pakistan’s issue. They said that we can help our countrymen a lot without being affiliated to any political party.
