NEWYORK: The Pakistani American community of Long Island lit candles to show solidarity with the victims of the California wildfire. The Pakistani community says they are ready to provide all possible assistance to the affectees of the California wildfire.
Expressing solidarity with the victims of the worst wildfire in American history in Los Angeles, California, Pakistani American Community of Long Island lit candles at local hotel. The organization’s president, Humayun Shabbir, and general secretary, Asim Malik, said that the victims of California should not feel alone.
PACOLI’s founding head, Bashir Qamar, and his wife, Tasneem Qamar, who is also the director of the organization, said that this is an unforgettable tragedy, and the Pakistani community should provide all possible support to the victims.
Nassau County Executive’s Senior Advisor Chaudhry Akram and Office of Asian Americans Affairs Director Aun Naqvi also expressed solidarity at the ceremony.
On this occasion, other PACOLI’s office bearers Atiq Qadri, Salman Sheikh, Madiha Mustafa and Kashif Idrees said that it is not possible to repair the damage caused by this disaster, but the problems can definitely be solved by unity and becoming each other’s strength.
PACOLI’s Director Jamal Mohsin, Ayaz Siddiqui, Tahirin Din and other speakers agreed at the event that as Pakistani American Muslims, we all have a responsibility to be a support to the victims in this difficult time.
Other speakers also spoke on the occasion and reiterated their commitment to provide all possible help to the victims of California.
Later, renowned religious scholar and scholar Allama Tasavur-ul-Hassan Gilani prayed for the progress and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah, including the difficulties of the Los Angeles victims, and for the establishment of peace and tranquility in the world.
