NEWYORK: Pakistani American Community of Long Island organized food drive and distributed hot meal to needy persons in Queens.
It is pertinent to mention that various organizations of the Pakistani community in New York organize food drives.
The Pakistani American Community of Long Island organized a food drive in the Queens area, providing fresh food to the needy from Tex’s chicken & Burgers.
PACOLI President Humayun Shabbir and General Secretary Asim Malik said that the needy have the right to be helped and the community must participate in social and welfare activities whenever they get a chance.
Needy persons made que following the announcement of the food drive who came from Queens and its suburbs and office bearers of PACOLI distributed meal boxes to them.
PACOLI’s Joint Secretary Kashif Idris and Comptroller Azra Dar said that such activities highlight the positive face of the Pakistani community.
Self-respect of the needy and the deserving persons were taken care of in the food drive. PACOLI directors’ Ayaz Siddiqui and Salman Zafar said that their organization has always carried out social and welfare activities without discrimination of caste and color.
The difficulties of homeless and needy people have increased due to winter season and increasing inflation. PACOLI ‘s food drive has given a message that the rich and philanthropists should take care of the people around them.
