
New York: Shakeel Rahman, a business and social personality of the Indian American community, organized a meet and greet with New York State Assembly woman Michaelle Solages and Congress candidate Laura Glenn. The South Asian community attended the event in large numbers and asked about the policies and goals of the candidates.
The meet and greet was organized by Indian American community entrepreneur and socialite Shakeel Rahman and his family at their residence in Valley Stream.
During the event, attendees were given the opportunity to discuss their political issues with Democratic candidates Assembly woman Michaellle Solages and Congressional candidate Laura Gillen, and get first-hand information about their policies and goals.
Shakil Rahman, host of the event, told Voice of South Asia that Michaelle Solages and Laura Gillen are democrats who always work for immigrants and understand the problems of Muslim communities.
In his speech, Democratic candidate and Assemblyman Michaelle Solages highlighted her efforts to serve the community and build a better future.
Speaking to Voice of South Asia, specifically she mentioned her plans to increase health facilities, educational activities and employment opportunities.
Congressional candidate Laura Gillen, who also participated in the event, addressed the participants and said that ” I always prioritized investing in our local communities so that we can heal the regions “.
During the event, the participants asked various questions on political and social issues including better infrastructure in Valley Stream, provision of health facilities and educational opportunities for the youth.
