NEWYORK: The Fatima Masjid situated at Valley Stream, Nassau County, Long Island took out its twelfth annual procession in celebration of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).
The procession started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The Imam of Fatima Masjid Shafqat moderated the procession.
The Office of Asian American Affairs provided full assistance with regard to issuance of procession permits and administrative matters.
A large number of devotees including children, youth, men, women and elders participated in the procession while Naat Khawan recited Naats in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Senior advisor of Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Chaudhary Akram, executive director of the office of Asian American affairs Aun Naqvi and other religious scholars of different Masajid and religious centers of New York participated in the procession and shed light on the Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him)’s life.
On this occasion, Mufti Sajjad Madani requested Akram Chaudhary to make arrangements for issuance of official permit of the procession of Eid Miladun Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) in Nassau County.
Senior Advisor Akram Chaudhary said that even life is sacrificed in the name of Prohphet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and he will definitely talk for the permit of the procession.
The procession passed through its designated routes and ended by reaching Fatima Masjid. The organizers of the event also arranged Nazr-o- Niaz and Langar for the participants of the procession.
