Allama Iqbal community center organizes Brooklyn fair to celebrate Pakistan’s 77 th independence day

NEWYORK: Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day celebrations have started in New York.  Allama Iqbal community center organized Brooklyn fair in Brooklyn. Singers coming from Pakistan made the Pakistan’s day celebration incredible.

As Pakistan’s 77th independence Day is approaching, Pakistani American community hoisted Pakistani green flags in New York. rrived in New York. The Brooklyn fair was organized with the efforts of renowned personality Tahir Bhatta and the fair committee, at Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn.

The Brooklyn fair was started with the recitation of the Holy Quran.  Renowned Naat-e-Khawan Asghar Chishti offered Naat in honor of Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM). The national anthems of America and Pakistan were played and recited in the Independence Day celebration.

New York’s police contingent marched and saluted in its traditional manner when the Brooklyn fair started on the occasion of Independence Day.

A large number of Pakistani American community, in which men and women, youth, children, old people all participated in the Brooklyn fair. The participants showed their love for the motherland by wearing clothes similar to the colors of the national flag. On this occasion, the participants were informed about the activities of Allama Iqbal Community Center.

Allama Iqbal community center’s founding members Malik Nasir Awan and well-known social personality Tahir Bhatta expressed their gratitude to their team for the arrangements. They said that such a large number of participants proved that Pakistanis are a lively nation.

Various stalls were set up depicting the eastern civilization and culture where traditional dresses for women were displayed. While green and white t-shirts were also available for children and youths in accordance with the celebration of independence.

Allama Iqbal Brooklyn fair committee chairman Chaudhry Maqsood Ilahi and Vice Chairman Malik Mohammad Akram congratulated the participants on the Independence Day.

They said that although their entire lives were spent in America but their hearts beat only for Pakistan.

Brooklyn fair committee President Hasan Nasir Awan and Umar Nadeem Butt also expressed their views.

They said that living nations never forget to celebrate their national festivals wherever they live in the world. On this occasion, several food dishes and barbeques were prepared for the participants.

General secretary of the fair committee Sajjad Butt said that they will try to improve the Brooklyn fair in next coming years.

Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in New York Umar Cheema, various American officials, Muslim officers of NYPD also participated the event.

Deputy Consul General Umar Cheema congratulated the participants on the Independence Day of Pakistan. He said that fair is a bouquet of community’s unity and the consulate was trying to provide better services to the community.

The American official participating in the ceremony also enjoyed the fair. Allama Iqbal Community Center and the Brooklyn fair committee presented gift of flowers to their guests.

Addressing participants, the American officials said that they too came to USA as immigrants a few decades ago, and they were very happy to be here today.

Members of the Brooklyn fair team were invited on stage so that their efforts can be praised and encouraged.

Speakers appreciated the efforts and community services of Allama Iqbal Community Center. They said that it was satisfying to see such a large number of community gathered in the Independence Day celebration and their hard work paid off.

Deputy Public Advocate of New York city Kashif Hussain said that Pakistani community was now making its place in the political and administrative sector, which is encouraging for our future generations.

Pakistani folk singers Nadeem Abbas Loonewala, Shazia Manzoor and others who came at the invitation of Allama Iqbal Community Center and Brooklyn fair performed at the concert and enthralled the audience from their performances.

The guests and the fair committee organizers were also presented appreciation certificates in recognition of their services.
