NEWYORK: Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Aamir Ahmed Atuzai, has said that Pakistanis living in America have achieved a unique position in every field due to their abilities, hardwork and competence.
He was speaking at a function organized to celebrate the promotion of Pakistani American police officer Jahangir Ashraf to the post of deputy inspector.
A function was held at the residence of Pakistani American businessman, and social personality Mohammad Ahmed Jan, who is also a close friend of Jahangir Ashraf to celebrate his promotion to the post of deputy inspector.
Police detective Noman Malik welcomed all the guests and colleague police officers while Pakistani American businessman Ali Rashid moderated the event.
Addressing the occasion, Pakistani Consul General Aamir Ahmad Atuzai and New York State Assemblymember Nadir said that the professionals of the Pakistani American community not only achieved a unique position due to their outstanding work in every field but also they kept helping the people in difficult situations.
The host of the event Mohammad Ahmed Jan and others speakers said that it is necessary that we should cooperate with each other, maintain unity and provide every possible guidence to the the youth for our mutual development.
New York police officers and other prominent community personalities also attended the event.
President of NYPD Muslim Officers Society Inspector Adeel Rana said that Pakistani officers in the NYPD were not only the pride of the community but also a role model for the young generation.
On this occasion, Deputy Inspector Jahangir Ashraf addressed the participants and narrated his life struggle after coming to the USA and his experience of joining the police force.
He stressed the need to guide the young generation in the right direction so that they can move forward.
Jahangir Ashraf’s brother, friends, and colleagues in the police department also expressed their views.
Assemblyman Nadir presented a certificate of appreciation to Deputy Inspector Jahangir Ashraf for his professional services. In the end, the police officers and other community members also cut a cake to celebrate the promotion of Jahangir Ashraf as Deputy Inspector.
