
NEWYORK: New York Police Commissioner Edward Caban has said that police officers have risked their lives many times to ensure the safety of citizens.
He was speaking at the Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month event at the New York’s police headquarters.
The representative organizations of police officers belonging to Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Korea and other nationalities in the NYPD celebrated Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month together.
Police Commissioner Edward Caban, Police Chief Jeffrey Maddrey and a large number of police officers and officials attended the event held at New York police’s headquarter one police plaza.

Addressing participants, Police Chief Edward Caban congratulated officers of various nationalities for celebrating their cultural heritage. He said that NYPD police officials risk their lives to protect the citizens and we all can make this city safe together.
Rich tributes were paid to the officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and their sacrifices were acknowledged. Artists performed cultural dances in intercultural heritage event of Asian Americans.
