
NEWYORK: It is now easier for the people of various communities living in New York to get jobs in city government departments.
APNA community has taken a task of youth mentorship.
APNA community organized annual jobs and resource fair at Neptune Avenue in Brooklyn to inform the entire community living in New York about getting a job in the city government departments.
The event was started with a recitation of the Holy Quran. Several departments of city government and community organizations set up stalls from where the participants were provided information with regard to jobs in city government departments.
APNA community center’s chief executive officer Erum Hanif hosted the event and informed the participants about the objectives of the jobs and resource fair.
A large number of people from various communities participated in the event. The staff of the offices of US officials, various community representative organizations and New York Police personnel also participated in the job and resource fair.
Speakers of the job fair expressed hope that job fair will help the youth in career counseling and to find a job in their respective field of education and expertise.
APNA community center CEO Erum Hanif said that several jobs opportunities were available at city government departments and youth should be guided in this regard. Participants were served Halal food prepared by the jobs and resource fair management while entertainment event was also arranged for the children.
