NEW YORK: Pakistan Civic Association of Staten Island organized a wonderful Eid Milan party in New Jersey.
The Eid Milan events are continued after the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Pakistani Civic Association of Staten Island organized Eid Milan at a local restaurant in New Jersey which was attended by prominent personalities of the community.
The event was started with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Secretary of the organization Sadia Shaikh moderated the event and welcomed the guests and introduced them.
The national anthems of USA and Pakistan were also sung on this occasion.
Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Aamir Ahmed Atuzai participated in the ceremony as a special guest and he was presented with bouquets and sweets by the association.
The president of the organization, Dr. Mohammad Khalid, told the participants that the Pakistani Civic Association of Staten Island was established 24 years ago. He said that association helped the Pakistan whenever the countrymen in Pakistan faced a difficult time.
When the participants of Eid Milin gathered with their family and friends, their happiness was doubled.
Secretary of the Association Sadia Sheikh said that Pakistani community has proved its importance in US democratic system and whenever Pakistan faced the natural disasters the association helped our brothers and sisters whatever could be possible.
On this occasion, the vice president of the association, Dr. Parveen Khan said that Dr. Khalid has played an important role for resolving the visa, passport and citizenship problems of the Pakistani community.
Earlier, Consul General Amir Ahmad Atuzai also expressed his views and congratulated participants on Eid and assured all possible support on behalf of Pakistani government. He said that the community of Staten Island is moving forward by setting its goals.
Talking with Voice of South Asia, Dr.Khalid and Sadia Sheikh said that we want to keep the community united and find solutions to the problems they are facing. Besides, provide better opportunities for the newcomers to move forward.
Music concert was also arranged in the event where participants enjoyed the melodious songs. The president of the association Dr. Khalid and others members also sung songs which were enjoyed by the audience.
The event ended with dinner after spreading happiness and smiles on the faces of the participants.
